Master of Science in Written Communication (MSWC) Program
The MSWC Program welcomes students with a B.A. or B.S. in any field who have a serious interest in professionalizing their writing skills. Classes are small and taught by experienced instructors who are also published writers. The sequence of courses is designed to fit each student's personal goals, with an unusual variety of writing genres presented.
Courses are offered at the Evanston Campus (2005-6), New North Shore Campus (2006-7), Lisle and Chicago Campuses. All courses are 3 semester hours unless otherwise marked.
Most students who have full time commitments take one 3-semester hour course and one 1-semester hour course each quarter. Students are required to have 33 semester hours for their M.S. Degree, which includes a thesis written at the end of the program that can be taken for 3-6 semester hours credit. The length and nature of the thesis is determined by the student in conference with the thesis advisor. Thesis is offered every quarter at times to fit the needs of individual students.
