  • Coursework provides students with basic listening and speaking skills in Mandarin Chinese with emphasis on pronunciation and an introduction to reading and writing of Chinese characters.
  • Students acquire basic grammar and vocabulary in a cultural context.
  • Audio, video, and online resources provide reinforcement and enhancement activities.
  • Coursework is suitable for business professionals seeking an introduction to modern Chinese and Chinese culture.

Undergraduate Chinese courses are offered by the Department of Language Studies. These courses are also open to graduate students. If you are looking for an endorsement in Chinese in order to teach, please contact TAmos-Mandela@nl.edu for more information.
