Federal Work-Study Overview
Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled on at least a half-time basis. Students earn at least the federal minimum wage but could earn more per hour depending on the type of work and the skills required for that job. In order to apply for Work-Study positions, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student;
  • Admitted and enrolled at least half-time (6 hours/term undergraduate; 3 hours/term graduate) at National-Louis University;
  • Meeting or exceeding satisfactory academic progress as defined by the Student Finance Office;
  • Completed all required financial aid paperwork (FAFSA and, if selected for verification, a Verification Worksheet and a copy of tax return information with W-2's and schedules) as requested from the Student Finance Office;
  • Received a Financial Aid Package from the Student Finance Office with Federal Work-Study eligibility.

NOTE: Per Section 224, 227 and 401.5 of the Illinois Unemployment Insurance guidelines, participants in a College or University Student Employment program are not eligible for unemployment compensation. Any questions should be directed to the Student Finance Office.

Students who meet the above criteria and are interested in any of the positions listed below, please contact Toni Todd, Federal Work-Study Coordinator at 800.443.5522 x5350 or at ttodd@nl.edu for specific contact information and documents. If you do not have Federal Work-Study eligibility and you are interested in working, please contact the Student Finance Office. They will be able to determine if you are eligible to participate.
